Description

Join Jo Washington, MCC and Damian Goldvarg, MCC to explore how racial issues can impact our coaching practice. In this session, we will share our own racial experiences and discrimination challenges. Participants will be invited to reflect on their own struggles and beliefs about race in small groups. Together we will discuss best practices to increase self-awareness and to ‘be authentic’ during coaching conversations around racial issues. Participants will gain insights on effective coaching skills to apply during race-related conversations. This session may inspire you to identify purposeful actions that you can ‘do’ to promote anti-racist practices into your greater communities.

By the end of the session participants will be able to:
– Identify how racial issues affect their coaching practice
– Explore with colleagues how to address racial issues in coaching conversations
– Develop self-awareness on issues of privilege, bias, and systemic racism
