Description

This session will explore the science of human emotions and the implications for coaching. From our personal experience and neuroscience research, we know that emotions play a significant role in human behavior. However, we lack comprehensive frameworks and effective techniques for locating and measuring emotions.

During the session, we will:

1) Present a framework and approach for measuring emotions that integrates motivational theory and neuroscience. This work has been validated through 5 large-scale studies and published in the peer-reviewed journal Integrative Psychological & Behavioral Science.
2) Share findings from interviews conducted with coaches about the role of emotions in their coaching and the tools and techniques they use.
3) Share the group’s own emotional profile (we encourage you to participate by clicking on the link below and taking a 3-minute emotional measurement exercise)
4) Breakout into small group sessions to explore what those emotional responses may mean and how to prompt powerful conversations with your clients.

Please take 3 minutes to share your emotional responses about your coaching work by clicking on or cutting and pasting the link below. What are the feelings you want more of in your coaching? What are the feelings you want less of in your coaching?  https://app.leadingindicator.com/go/ICFLA2022
