Over several years, an investment in emotional intelligence (EI) competency development via executive coaching, led to greater leadership capacity and team effectiveness for Senior Leaders, at a critical time of rapid change in the organization’s history. As the primary leadership development choice, executive coaching supported EI skills growth as leaders sponsored and executed changes in the organization’s purpose, vision, mission, values, and experienced significant organization growth and changes in structure, talent, and roles that facilitated essential shifts in service delivery to patients.
During a time of continuous change and rapid industry shifts, including an adaptive response to Covid-19, senior leaders in this organization continue to work on individual and team-level behavior changes using EI practices.
Takeaways for participants:
– Understand how this work was approached several years ago, and what continues today.
– Explore how to support leaders to make EI behavior changes with a practices approach.
– Learn about a couple of measures used to support the growth of self-awareness.
– Consider our own EI development as coaches using a couple of these measures.
