Description

Clearly, these are unprecedented times evoking many strong emotions. We are entering the third year of the pandemic, with no end in sight. We are experiencing separation from others, disruptions to life and work routines, witnessing hardship and difficulties in our communities. All triggering changes in our emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

Compounding this reality is the very essence of today’s professionals and workplaces. The work is often demanding, high pressure, and relentless. These expectations may create feelings of restlessness, depression, anger, or low energy for long stretches of time. Yet, such conditions may also provide an opportunity for taking stock…for deeper meaning, emotional restoration, and for fostering richer connections. But how?

In this session, we will share the emerging science of psychology, neuroscience, medicine, and resiliency on ways to restore your emotional and mental balance as you’re riding the waves. The session participants will learn the science and practices about:

• How prolonged stress can disrupt our nervous system, mental, physical and psychological responses, and causes of mental health issues including depression and addiction
• Making sense of your emotions, learning that emotions occur in our bodies, not in our heads, that emotions are invitations for targeted meaningful actions and growth
• Breaking the pattern of the “freeze-replay” emotions which may lead to recurrent negative talks, ruminating brains, procrastination.
• Ways to foster emotional safety at work for yourself and your team
• Methods for leading with greater calm, focus, and balance
